Jan Quoted In Music
Connection Magazine
"Jan is a frequently quoted expert in music trade publications such as Music Connection Magazine and in other entertainment news media such as top-rated Los Angeles TV station KTLA and Sam Rubin's "The Entertainment Report" and others."
Jan was recently quoted in this issue of Music Connection with Jewel on the cover. I want to thank Bernard Baur for the rockin' article RIP YOUR REHERSAL RUT TO SHREDS. Some of the valuable tips Jan mentions are "Rehearsals should be about getting ready for something-whether it's a recording session, a live show, or a tour. You're supposed to strive for a higher level"
"While organization is essential, creativity shouldn't be overlooked. Let players improvise. Magical moments can happen that way. You should encourage it and savor it when it occurs". "Musicians just have to realize that rehearsals are a fundamental part of a successful music career. They can be a stepping stone to greatness".

In the Studio & Songwriting
Jan was in the studio this month recording "Save The World" co-written by Jessica Isaacs. Jan and Marty also cut a new version of the song "Out Of The Blue" co-written by the talented Lilly Carrico.
Jan sent Jack Knight (pictured) her song "I Was In It For The Love" his comments were, " I love the words, and melody changes. Reminds of some classic Billy Joel" Now that can really make a girl's day.
His book is available @ Lulu.com, under "The Art Of Writing A Hit Song: The Urban Experience" or you can purchase directly from his myspace page and click on the "LULU pay Now Buttton" as an Ebook or Download. Jan read Jack's book and highly recommends it. It's great!
Music Legend Bill Withers (writer of "Lean On Me", "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone", "Just The Two Of Us") loves Monique Brown (pictured). She recorded Jan's song "Bring Back The Moment". And Bill Withers said, "Now that's a song!" He loved the writing the lyrics and loved the match of Monique's voice on there. "
